Brian Pinkney brings three decades of experience as an acclaimed, prolific illustrator and fine artist. As the New York Times bestselling and two-time Caldecott Honor-winning creator of 70 illustrated books for children, he one of the nation's most widely exhibited narrative artists, lecturers, and academicians. Additionally, he is the author of eleven published books illuminating children’s and their caregiver’s social-emotional lives. Since 1989, he has published up to three books annually, and continues to light up the literary landscape year-on-year with new books, notable exhibitions, and speaking engagements.

Brian’s canon also includes editorial illustrations for numerous national publications, including several New York Times Opinion pieces, The New York Times Magazine, Business Tokyo, Women’s Day, Ebony Man, Instructor, and more. He is also the visual essayist for several notable book covers. Additionally, an impressive roster of museums, universities, and private collections seek his curatorial expertise and paintings.
